Factoryline Bluetooth
Bluetooth (IEEE 802.15.1) is a standardized wireless technology, which enables extremely
rugged and reliable data transmission, even in metal environments and industrial
environments with high levels of interference. Bluetooth has become established as the
standard for the wireless transmission of control data in automation networks. Factoryline
Bluetooth is the standard-compliant optimization for industrial factory automation.
Benefits:
The use of Factoryline Bluetooth is recommended if the following requirements are to be
met:
–
Very reliable transmission of control data in harsh industrial environment
–
A high local installation density of wireless systems
–
Interference-free parallel operation with WLAN
–
Protocol-transparent transmission of automation protocols (e.g., PROFINET,
EtherNet/IP)
–
Optimization for PROFINET operation (PN prioritization, PTCP filter, etc.)
–
Ranges of up to 100 m indoors and several hundred meters outdoors (strongly
depends on environmental conditions)
