Please observe the following notes when using a shield connection clamp:
• Make sure that the cable shields for Ethernet are correctly secured in the connec
-
tors and when routing a cable through a control cabinet.
• Only use shielded data cables. As much of the cable shield as possible must be
connected to the ground on both sides.
• Immediately following entry in the control cabinet or housing, connect as much of
the cable shield as possible to a cable shield/protective conductor bar and secure
the cable shield with a cable clamp.
Route the cable shield to the module without interruption, but do not connect it to
the ground again there.
The connection between the cable shield/protective conductor bar and the control
cabinet/housing must have no impedance.
• Only use metal or metal-plated connector housings for shielded data cables.

Mounting the fan module
Safety notes
NOTE: Device defect due to the fan module not being calibrated
If you do not calibrate the fan module
prior to initial startup
, the controller may be
-
come damaged during operation.
• Calibrate the fan module
prior to initial startup
, as described in the
NOTE: Device defect due to the fan module being recalibrated
Only calibrate the fan module
prior to initial startup
. If you have already been oper
-
ating the fan module for a while and recalibrate it, the threshold values for warnings
determined during the initial calibration will have changed. As a result, the controller
may become damaged during operation due to overheating.
• Only calibrate the fan module
prior to initial startup
, as described in the
• Do not recalibrate the fan module after initial startup.
NOTE: Overheating due to a defect in the fan module
If the fan module is faulty, the controller may become damaged due to overheating.
• Replace a faulty fan module immediately, see
Section 11.1.2, “Replacing the fan
.
• Please note: Following replacement, the new fan module must be calibrated, see
Section 5.2, “Mounting the fan module”
.
NOTE: Device defect due to the fan module being replaced during operation
If you replace the fan module during operation, this can cause a device defect on the
controller.
• Before replacing the fan module, switch off the controller and remove it from the
DIN rail.
