Symbol Title and meaning
Ramp (Variability)
To identify the control device by means of which a quantity is controlled. The controlled quantity
increases with the figure width.
Not applicable to Philips Respironics E30.
Patient breath indicator
Unlocking
Identifies on a control that a function is not locked.
Keep dry
Indicates the medical device that needs to be protected from moisture.
Fragile, handle with care
Indicates the medical device can be broken or damaged if not handled carefully.
Humidity limitation
Indicates the range of humidity to which the medical device can be safely exposed.
Temperature limit
Indicates the storage temperature limits to which the medical device can be safely exposed.
Packaging unit
To indicate the number of pieces in the package.
Manufacturer
Indicates the medical device manufacturer.
CC
Date of Manufacture
To indicate the date on which a product was manufactured.
Country of Manufacturer
To indicate the country of manufacture of the product.
Note: When applied to the label, “CC” is replaced by the two letter country code.
Reorder number
Indicates the manufacturer’s catalogue number so the medical device can be identified.
Serial number
Identify the manufacturer’s serial number for the medical device.
