Installing rechargeable desiccant in the window compartment
There is also a rechargeable desiccant kit available (part number L1251840).
To install rechargeable desiccant packs refer to the procedure for Installing disposable
desiccant in the window compartment
on page 68.
The desiccated compartment requires a single rechargeable desiccant pack that is sized to fit
the desiccant container.
The rechargeable desiccant kit contains two rechargeable desiccant packs. This is so you can
immediately replace the desiccant in the instrument with a re-activated pack.
Re-activate a desiccant pack by baking it in an oven at 250 °C for approximately eight hours.
It should be cooled in a dry atmosphere. For optimum results, re-activate the pack
immediately before re-use.
