FRS Process—Definition and Configuration

Convert—the FECN bit from the framerelay header will be replaced by the EFCI bit in the ATM header in
the ATM to FR direction. The EFCI bit from the ATM header will be replaced by the FECN bit in the
framerelay header in the FR to ATM direction.
Function: This setting allows the user to determine how the FECN and EFCI bits will be transferred across the
network.
VPI
Sets the Virtual Path Identifier for the ATM side of the FRS connection.
VCI
Sets the Virtual Channel Identifier for the ATM side of the FRS connection.
DLCI
Sets the Data Link Connection Identifier for the framerelay side of the FRS connection.
FRSName
Define the name of the connection. This is only used by the administrator as a reference. Has no bearing on
the FRS connection.
State
Sets the state of the connection.
Options:

Enable – enable the connection
•
Disable – disable the connection
Function: After configuration of the FRS connection set the state to “enable”. This will create the FRS connec-
tion. If changes are required for the connection, the changes should be made and then the connection should
be disabled and re-enabled. This will install the new configurations into the FRS link.
