•
hardwareFailure(200)—indicates that this particular mDSL modem in the 3095 has failed and is not oper-
ational
The following describes the normal sequence of states an mDSL modem goes through during the connection
process:
1.
idle
2.
handshaking
3.
training
4.
dataLink
5.
dataSync
The modem link is considered to be “connected” for data transmission only after dataSync(160) state is estab-
lished.
Line (S/N ratio) Quality (dB) (lineQualityMdsl)
This item displays the signal quality of the mDSL link. The signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio is measured in dB. Each
mDSL line rate has a minimum Signal Quality (SQ) that will support a BER of 1e-7. Table 4 shows the
approximate average SQ for each line rate with noise (self-NEXT) that would produce a BER of 1e-7.
Without noise the range may increase.
DSL Connection Time (linkupTimerMdsl)
The total consecutive times which the mDSL modem link has been in dataSync mode. In dataSync mode, data
can be transferred.
Clock Slip Counter (fifoCounterMdsl)
This item displays the status of the FIFO counter in the mDSL data pump by counting the number of clock
slips. Each mDSL modem has its own counter.
Clicking on the
Clear Clock Slip Counter
button resets the counter to zero.
