9 • mDSL Port Configuration
CO/CP Mode (Local Status) (cocpModeMdsl)
The following options are available:
•
coMode(0)
•
cpMode(1)
CO refers to the Central Office or central site where the 3095 is located. CP is the customer’s premises. For the
mDSL modems to function, one modem must be in CO and the other in CP mode. Normally the 3095’s
internal modem is configured for CO mode. Subsequently the remote CPE modem will be configured for CP
mode.
CO/CP Mode (Remote Status) (remoteCOCPMdsl)
Applicable only when the remote modem is a Model 1088/K or 1095E1/K. The following options are available
for the remote CPE mDSL modem:
•
forcetoCP(0)—When forcetoCP(0) appears, either the 3095’s administrator sent the configuration option
to the remote modem to force it to be CP, or the remote modem was independently preconfigured to CP
mode.
•
normal(1)—indicates that the remote modem’s CO/CP parameter was automatically configured by the
3095. In other words, the CO/CP mode is determined by which clock mode the CPE modem is in.
•
notavailable(50)
Clock Mode (Local Status) (clockModeMdsl)
This gives the source of the transmit clocks for both the 3095’s internal modem as well as the remote CPE
modem. The available options are:
•
independent-receiveClock(0)
•
systemClocking-receiveClock(1)
•
cpeClocking-intClock(2)
•
cpeClocking-extClock(3)
•
sysemClocking-extClock(4)
•
systemClocking-intClock(5)
To understand the nomenclature of the Clock Mode options, notice that the dash distinguishes between the
local clock source for the selected mDSL modem within the 3095 and the clock source for the CPE mDSL
modem. (For example, in ext-receiveClock(1), the 3095’s mDSL modem is deriving its transmit clock from the
time-slot exchanger (hence,
ext.
). The CPE mDSL modem uses the receive recovered clock for its transmit
clock source.)
Clock Mode (Remote Status) (remoteClockMdsl)
The following options are available for the transmit clock source in the remote mDSL modem:
•
intClk(0)
•
extClk(1)
