GENERAL INFORMATION
The
PATON
™
ProMIG-160/200/250/270-400V/350-400V/500-400V/630-400V
digital
inverter welding machines are designed for
Manual Arc Welding
(MMA),
Manual Tungsten
Inert Gas
(TIG)
and
Gas Metal Arc Welding
(GMAW) where inert gases and gas mixtures are
used together with an external wire feeder.
The advantage of deploying a fully digital control system in this machine is its ability to
seamlessly handle multiple modes like MMA, TIG, and MIG/MAG. Unlike analog controls,
which are typically optimized for a specific mode and face inefficiencies when switched to
other modes, the digital method avoids these common issues. In an entirely digitized
system, the control board leverages its full potential, independent of the operational mode.
The ProMIG series is engineered specifically for industrial applications. For enhanced safety
and user convenience during TIG or MMA welding procedures, the power source can be
decoupled from the wire feeder. This configuration negates the necessity to transport a
weighty unit with a loaded welding wire spool.
The 'Professional' series is designed for industrial applications; thanks to the additional
adjustments, the welder can be set to the most optimal settings in various situations. The
units provide virtually continuous loading at the full real rated current of 160A, 200A, 250A,
270A, 350A, 500A, 630A respectively, which is sufficient to work with any electrode from
Ø1.6mm to Ø8mm (for PRO
-630-400V) and semi-automatic welding with solid wire from
Ø0.6mm to Ø2.0mm (for PRO
-630-400V). The source is preset to optimal parameters
suitable for a majority of tasks, and while it maintains simplicity, delving into the advanced
settings necessitates considerable expertise from the welder.
This equipment offers seamless transitions between DCEP and DCEN polarities, ensuring
optimal welding performance across various conditions and materials. For environments
posing potential risks, an integrated voltage reduction mechanism is incorporated in the
MMA mode, with an option for activation or deactivation.
