Chapter 3 – Operations
When counting the same type of item into different scoops or vials, the AccuCount II
must be tared with each new scoop or vial placed on the pan (step 3, above). The
programmed piece weight will remain set and the scale will be ready to count.
3.3.3 Rx-Check application
Rx-Check mode compares the prescription NDC bar code to the stock bottle UPC bar
code for a match. If a match is confirmed and the individual piece weight for the drug
is in the library, the AccuCount II is ready to count pills.
While in the Rx-Check application, you can add new programmed piece weights,
cross-reference a prescription to another drug, and add new drugs to the AccuCount II
drug library.
To use the Rx-Check application
1
Select
Rx-Check
from the Applications menu.
The scale prompts you to place the scoop on the scale and identify the drug.
2
Place the empty scoop or vial on the pan.
3
Use the scanner to scan the prescription NDC bar code.
The scale prompts you to scan the stock bottle UPC bar code.
