Ⅰ.
BEFORE USING THE BED
11
Do not perform bed operations such as raising the head or knee
section with a restraint belt attached to the mattress deck.
The patient’s body may be squeezed resulting in injury or the bed may be damaged or deformed.
If the patient or attendant operates the side-rail integrated panel, patient control panel, handheld
controller (standard or accessory), or nurse control panel (accessory), the body may get caught in
the bed by mistake, resulting in unexpected injury. If there is a possibility that such a person
operates the side-rail integrated panel, patient control panel, handheld controller (standard or
accessory), or nurse control panel (accessory), use one of the following procedures to limit
operation to prevent accidents caused by unintended operation
●
Set Overall lock-out on the side-rail integrated panel or nurse control panel (accessory) to
disable the operation of the side-rail integrated panel, patient control panel, handheld controller,
and nurse control panel (accessory). (For the setting procedure, see p.49 and 61.)
●
Set Patient lock-out on the side-rail integrated panel or nurse control panel (accessory) to
disable the operation of the patient control panel and handheld controller. (For the setting
procedure, see p.49 and 61.)
●
Set Selective lock-out on the handheld controller (accessory) to disable individual
head/knee/height/inclining (IA-54580*** only) operations. (For the setting procedure, see p.54.)
Note that resetting the settings on the nurse control panel (accessory) enables all bed operations
again even when the side-rail integrated panel, patient control panel, handheld controller
(accessory), and nurse control panel (accessory) operations have been disabled. The bed may
move unexpectedly, resulting in injury. (See the instruction manual for the nurse control panel
(accessory).)
Use the bed according to the patient’s medical condition.
Depending on the patient’s medical condition, the condition may become worse if the patient’s
posture is changed by operating the bed or raising the head or knees.
If the patient or a family member operates the bed, make sure that the physician or nurse explains
the details given in the instruction manual and usage suitable for the patient’s medical condition.
Pay attention to the board and devices that install at the attachment
holes during tilt angle adjustment.
During tilt angle adjustment, pay attention the board and accessory attachment holes will become
tilted at an angle, which may cause equipment to drop, leading to injury as well as damage and
deformity to the equipment.
