Matrixes
O.Matrix GP5 / MP 02 matrixes, depending on their size, are either mounted directly
in an O.Master Frame MP 02, or indirectly using the O.Frame GP 5 / MP 02 frames.
O.Matrix MP01/MP02/MPEMD/GP5 6 mm thick matrixes have holes for inserting
screws for attaching to an O.Screw Matrix Base MP 02, and the whole set is placed
in an O.Master Frame MP 02.
A smaller matrix can be bonded to an O.MATRIX BASE MP/MP02/GP5/GP4/IP, which
has holes for inserting screws for attaching to an O.Screw Matrix Base MP 02, and
the whole set is placed in an O.Master Frame MP 02.
Non-standard matrix must first be bonded to an O.Matrix Base MP 02, and then
placed in an O.Master Frame MP 02.
8 GILDING / STAMPING
Note
The device operates properly only after matrix position has been calibrated.
1. Turn the device on by means of the switch at the back of the housing. The heater
warms up. Reaching the set temperature may take several minutes.
2. Place the frame with the types / matrix on the heater.
Note
Heating time of types / matrix depends on their size and number and can vary from
a few to more than ten minutes. Therefore, a test should be made prior to carrying
out final gilding.
3. Calibrate the matrix position (after turning on the device and after every matrix
change): press and hold the Calibration button, the matrix moves down until
pressed against stamped material sample and moves back by a set distance.
4. Mount the gilding foil reel in the unwinder (remove the unwinder shaft, loosen
the knob of one of the guide discs, and slide the reel onto the shaft, tighten the
knob of the guide disc). Pull the end of the foil over the heater and fasten it
symmetrically to the winder shaft (spread the shaft halves apart, insert the end of
the foil between them and set them together again), place the shaft in the winder
and enable manual winding by pressing the button on the control panel, turn the
winding shaft 1 or 2 times to tension the foil.
