7.4.2 Replacing the battery module of the tower model
NOTE
The battery module does not have any hot-swap batteries.
Please replace the entire battery module. Please contact
your dealer if you want to replace the individual batteries.
CAUTION
The battery module is very heavy. At least two persons are
required for lifting the housing.
1. Pull off the cable of the battery module from the UPS system.
If additional battery modules are installed, pull off the cables
from the battery connections of all battery modules.
2. Replace the battery modules. Please read the Disposing of old
batteries or the UPS system section for information on proper
disposal.
3. Release and remove the cable holder which covers the battery
connections on each battery module (see Figure 3). Keep the
clamps and screws.
CAUTION
A small spark can occur when the battery module is con-
nected to the UPS system. This is normal and does not pose
a hazard to people. Quickly and firmly insert the cable of the
battery module into the battery plug connection of the UPS
system.
4. Connect all plug connections between the battery modules
and the UPS system (see Figure 3). Up to four batteries can
be connected to the UPS system.
5. Mount all previously removed cable clamps rotated by 90° be-
low the connector (see Figure 3).
6. Make sure that all lug connections are firmly connected and
that all cables are provided with sufficient tension relief and
ample bending radii.
