Safety Instructions
2.5.2 Mounting / dismantling
Electric shock hazard
To prevent the risk of electric shock, the appliance may only be connected
to a supply network equipped with a protective conductor.
• The appliance must be connected in such a way that it can be discon
-
nected from the mains at all poles and at the same time.
Electric shock hazard
Power supply cables may have been laid in the pendant system. Contact
with energised components presents a danger to life from electric shock.
Prior to mounting/dismantling work, disconnect the appliance from the
mains:
• Disconnect all the poles from the mains and prevent the appliance from
being switched back on again.
• Check whether the end device (e.g. flat screen, OR lamp, etc.) is de-
energised.

can suddenly jump up and may cause serious injury:
• Before removing the end device, make sure that the vertical lift of the
spring arm is restricted to the lowermost end stop (horizontal position).
Risk of parts falling off
During all dismantling and mounting work, it must be ensured that nobody
is located in the area underneath the pendant system.
2.5.3 Cleaning and disinfection
Cleaning
Risk of contamination and infection of the patient
Parts of the pendant system and the adaptions are made of plastic;
solvents can dissolve plastic materials. Strong acids, bases and agents
with an alcoholic strength of more than 60% can lead to the plastic materi
-
als becoming brittle. Damaged parts can fall into open wounds. Liquid
cleaning agents penetrating the pendant system and the adaptions can
drip into open wounds.
Disinfection
Health hazard
Disinfectants can contain substances hazardous to health which, when in
contact with the skin and eyes, can cause injuries or affect the respiratory
organs when inhaled. Observe the protective measures:
• Observe the hygiene regulations.
• Adhere to the disinfectant manufacturer's instructions.
• Perform surface disinfection every working day and in case of contam
-
ination.
