Setup the GRT1-PRT Configuration

Note 1. Not shown in the list is the first input word, containing the GRT1-PRT Unit
status word (refer to section
3-1-3 SmartSlice I/O Allocation to the GRT1-
PRT Unit
for an explanation on this word). The GRT1-PRT DTM automat-
ically adds the status word to the I/O Configuration.
2. The sequence of I/O devices selected in the I/O Module Tab must match
the sequence of physical devices attached to the GRT1-PRT. Otherwise
I/O Communication will not be achieved.
3. The I/O Mapping of bit-sized SmartSlice I/O data in to distinct words is per-
formed automatically by the GRT1-PRT.
As an alternative to selecting the I/O Configuration manually, the complete I/O
Configuration can be downloaded from the GRT1-PRT Unit. To accomplish
this, perform the following steps.
1,2,3... 1. In the Network view, select the GRT1-PRT and right-click the mouse.
2. From the context menu, which pops up, select the option Go Online .
3. Press the Upload button. This will initiate an upload of all SmartSlice I/O
Information, i.e. I/O Configuration, Unit types and Unit parameters. From
this upload, the I/O Configuration in the Configuration list will be assem-
bled automatically.
Note Uploading may take some time, due to the amount of parameters.
