Conformance to EC Directives

PROFIBUS units should be installed as follows, for the complete configuration
to meet the EC directives:

The units are designed for installation inside control panels. All units must
be installed within control panels.

2.

Use reinforced insulation or double insulation for the DC power supplies
used for the communication power supply, internal circuit power supply,
and the I/O power supplies.

3.

The GRT1-PRT PROFIBUS Communication Unit product meets the ge-
neric emission standard. However as EMC performance can vary in the fi-
nal installation, additional measures may be required to meet the
standards. It should therefore be verified that the overall machine or device
also meets the relevant standards. You must therefore confirm that EC di-
rectives are met for the overall machine or device, particularly for the radi-
ated emission requirement (10 m).
