) is not on.

Turn on the LIGHT button (

).

The insertion tube's distal end or the optical adapter is dirty.

Wipe with a clean piece of gauze or a cotton swab.
Or use a brush to remove foreign matter ("Cleaning the distal end" (P. 69) or
"Cleaning the optical adapter" (P. 69)).

The illumination is dim.

The optical adapter tip is dirty.

Wipe with a clean piece of gauze or a cotton swab.

The optical adapter cannot

Message

Cause and recommended action

HIGH TEMPERATURE (DISTAL END).
PLEASE IMMEDIATELY PULL OUT THE
SCOPE.

The message prompts you to stop inspection because the self-check
function was triggered.

Immediately pull the insertion tube out of the observation object.

This message will appear before the atmospheric tem-
perature of the distal end reaches the maximum operating
ambient temperature.

NOTE

HIGH TEMPERATURE (MAIN UNIT).
PLEASE TURN OFF THE POWER.

The message prompts you to stop operations because the inside of
the main unit was too hot and triggered the self-check function.

Terminate inspection, allow the instrument to cool down, and then

turn power back on again.

OVER CURRENT (ARTICULATION MO-
TOR).
PLEASE TURN OFF THE POWER.

The insertion tube is overloaded and the self-check function was trig-
gered to prompt termination of inspection.

Extend the insertion tube as much as possible to reduce the loop
amount, and turn power back on without operating the [ANGLE]
joystick.
