(3) Polling reception
To receive documents via polling, the receiving party dials the number of the transmitting fax,
triggering transmission of the documents set in that other fax. The documents can therefore be
received at a time convenient to the receiving party. Reception of documents from more than one
transmitting fax may be designated during a single procedure.
If the Continuous polling function is turned ON, polling reception will continue indefinitely until the
appropriate procedure to cancel it is performed. To turn the Continuous polling function OFF (or to
cancel a polling reception), refer to “(4) Cancelling a polling reception”, page 102.
* If all of the transmitting fax numbers are entered using abbreviated numbers or the one-touch
keys, this fax is capable of automatically receiving documents from up to 50 different facsimiles in
a single operation. A Multi-polling report will be printed out after those operations which involved
reception of documents from multiple facsimiles.
* Polling reception is only possible if the transmitting party has first performed the necessary polling
transmission operations.
* To cancel the procedure part way through, press the
STOP/RESET key. The fax will revert to the initial mode.
