Problem
A message indicates that the
modem is not responding when
you click on Test the Modem.
Solution
• Make sure that the modem is
switched on and connected to
the computer (for an
external modem) or that it is
not in conflict with another
series (com) port.
• Make sure that the port is not
being used by another applica-
tion.
• Verify the correct port
address and interrupt value in
the Control Panel.
Problem
A message indicates that the
modem is not a fax modem when
you click on Test the Modem.
Solution
Make sure your fax modem is
Hayes compatible class two
fax.

allocation error.
Solution
• Olifax will only operate on a
PC with Windows with a mini-
mum of 8MB RAM. Close appli-

Make sure that page format
and orientation are correct.
Olifax only works with the for-
mat A4.

is correctly connected and that
fax sending is enabled. If you are
connected to a switchboard
make sure the dial out number is
correct.

Solution
Make sure that Monitor is
enabled, that the telephone cable
is correctly connected and that
fax reception is enabled.
Problem
Com port error message when
starting Monitor.
Solution
Close the application occu-
pying the com port (Olicom or
another communications
application) then restart
Monitor.
Problem
Fax messages received are cor-
rupted.
Solution
The computer does not have
enough memory or the hard
disk is full.

The screen saver does not work
when Monitor is enabled.
