Starts a connection procedure.
E.g. :
ATDCR
(the modem takes the line and waits for the carrier tone of the
remote modem modem in order to connect).
Start an automatic call procedure with the command followed by a telephone
number.
Ex :

(the modem takes the line, dials the number 12345678
and waits for the carrier in order to connect).
The following characters may be added to the telephone number dialled:

Redial last telephone number
P
Pulse dialling,

Dial a sequence stored in the non-volatile memory

Tone dialling,

is used to insert
a pause to wait for a dialling tone (for example international).

Note 1: modem will hang up if an Ascii character is sent or the DTR signal is disabled
during dialling. The &A command controls the communication interruption when a cha-
racter is received from the terminal (during handshake). The &D command and S25
register set the DTR management mode.
Note 2: spaces may be inserted in the number being dialled, they will be ignored.
Note 3: *D allows consultation of delayed numbers and *B displays prohibited numbers.
Note 4: ATD<num> may send the message DELAYED 00:mm:ss (call late by mm minutes
and ss seconds). In the event of an incomplete call <num> may be BUSY, NO ANSWER or
NO CARRIER (if there is no connection after S7 seconds). ATD <NUM> may also send the
message BLACKLISTED.
