Functional description

4 Controlling the Exposure Lamp

Outline

The exposure lamp is a fluorescent lamp. It is controlled by the power supply
PBA:

■

Controlling the preheating of the exposure.

■

Switching the exposure lamp ON and OFF.

■

Controlling the intensity of the exposure lamp.

Control of the preheating

The exposure lamp is pre-heated. This shortens the time required for the inten-
sity of the exposure lamp to reach its optimum value, after a press on the Copy
button.

Preheating may be initial preheating or exposure lamp ON preheating.

■

Initial Preheating
Power is applied during initial rotation.

■

Preheating in ON situation
Power is applied during the copying operation.
