Site History Concepts
There are several important concepts to understand regarding the history editor. First, whatever row in
the history table is selected will be affected by whatever changes are made in the “Sensor Information”
fields. For example, in the screen shown below, changing the height from 5 m to 50 m would change the
row highlighted in the table.
To change the height, put your cursor in the field to the right of “Height,” type in the new height, and
press Tab. In the table below, you would see the new height displayed in the highlighted row.
The next important concept to understand is that the “Make New Change” button adds a row to the
history table. The new row can then be edited by entering new values in the Sensor Information fields
above.
Once the entries look good on the screen, the site file must be saved. Don’t forget to save your changes!
Select File>Save Site.
The most important concept is that whatever information appears in each row of the history table is
applied until the date of the next entry.
For example, if a logger was originally installed with an NRG Class 1 Anemometer which was replaced 3
months later with a #40C anemometer, the Baseline entry would show a description and scaling
information for the NRG Class 1 Anemometer for the first 3 months, and then the next history entry
would show the time and date the IceFree anemometer was installed and its scaling information.
