STEERING SYSTEM
STEERING CHAIN REMOVAL AND TENSIONING

Turn the master key switch off and disconnect the battery pack connector

See Figure 1. Loosen the (4) Hex HD Screws

and push the lower steering column back towards the driver seat to release the
steering chain tension.

Remove both Master Links

that secure the chain to the Steering Plate
(C)
then remove the chain from underneath the machine.

Reassemble parts in reverse order and adjust chain tension so that there is about 3/16” (5 mm) total deflection with moderate
pressure applied at point

(as shown).
Service Tip Note:
Use a pry bar or shims between the chassis and steering column to
help secure the tension adjustment when retightening the steering column mounting screws.
