(4) Excitation Filter
Set the information on excitation filters attached to the excitation filter changeover (EX filter wheel).

Press the MODE key, and the SETTING MENU screen will
appear on the LCD.
Select “Exciter” using the
S
key or the
T
key and then
press the [ ] key.

Press the MODE key to end the setting and to return to the
OPERATION screen.

Note:
If the excitation filter changeover is not connected, you cannot set the information on excitation filters.
“---------” indicates that no excitation filter is attached or registered at the address.
If an attached excitation filter is not listed in the presets, register it to the list of optional excitation filters. For
details, see V-7 (5) Excitation Filter in section V-7 (Registering Data for Optical Members).
If any of the openings in the changeover is empty (i.e., in the DIA position) when switching from one excitation filter
to another, a bright light may enter the observation side, depending on the layout of the optical members,
temporarily affecting your vision. To prevent this, we recommend that you attach excitation filters to the
changeover, as shown below.

Set Address 8 to DIA (empty).
Attach excitation filters from Address 1 forward,
leaving no empty openings in-between.
Put a light shielding plate on the openings
with no filter attached.
