Updating the System BIOS
Use the following steps to update your NEC Versa system BIOS with the
BIOS Update Diskette (BUD). Specifically, the BIOS is the code transmit-
ted onto your system’s microprocessor, or central processing unit (CPU).
NOTE
You only need to update the BIOS if NECCSD makes signifi-
cant improvements or fixes to the current system BIOS. Your
authorized NECCSD dealer or Technical Support Center represen-
tative can help you determine this.
If you are informed that the default BIOS needs an upgrade, to receive a
copy of the BUD contact the NECCSD Versa Diskette Fulfillment Center at
(800) 842-6446, or NECCSD Technical Support Center at (800) 632-4525,
Fax (978) 635-4100.
You should only use the BIOS upgrade diskette for your specific model.
NOTE
If you purchased and are using this computer outside the U.S.
or Canada, please contact a local NECCSD office or dealer in your
country.
Reference the booklet, “Getting Service and Support in Asia, Aus-
tralia, and Europe,” to find out how to contact the local office in your
country.
