Windows System Recovery
Recover the Windows system by following the instructions below if the files necessary to operate Windows are
corrupt.
Note

After recovering the system, be sure to install each driver and Starter Pack,
referring to the descriptions about how to install Starter Pack and device driver
in "
Installation Guide (Windows)
"

If Hard Disk Drive cannot be recognized, you cannot recover the Windows
system.
•
Depending on the server configuration, you may be required to create copies of
OEM drivers on removable media.

Recovery of Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2008
If Windows does not start for some reason, you can recover Windows using the system recovery option. Be
sure to perform this operation under the supervision of a user or administrator who has a thorough knowledge
of this option. For details, refer to Windows Help.
When the OEM drivers are required, copy the files under the following designated folder in
EXPRESSBUILDER to removable media.
•
Windows Server 2008 R2:
\023\win\winnt\oemfd\ws2008r2
•
Windows Server 2008 64-bit Edition:
\023\win\winnt\oemfd\ws2008x64
•
Windows Server 2008 32-bit Edition:
\023\win\winnt\oemfd\ws2008

Recovery of Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 Edition and Windows
Server 2003
If Windows does not start for some reason, you can recover Windows using the recovery console. Be sure to
perform this operation under the supervision of a user or administrator who has a thorough knowledge of this
method. For details, refer to Windows Help.
When the OEM drivers are required, copy the files under the following designated folder in
EXPRESSBUILDER to a Flash FDD.
