Upgrading Microprocessor
Your system is fitted with an AMD (K8) Athlon 64FX processor or an AMD (K8) Ath-
lon 64 processor. This processor is installed in a Socket 939.
Install a processor according to the following procedure.
1.
Remove the right side door. See “Removing the Right Side Door” on page 4-4.
2.
Disconnect the fan cable from the processor fan connector on the motherboard.
3.
Lift the heatsink plastic arms (A).

With your finger, gently pull on one of the metallic clips (B) to release the heat-
sink.

5.
When both metallic clips are released, lift the heatsink and set it aside.
6.
Locate the processor socket.
