Installing and Removing the Hard Disk Drive Cage
Installing the Hard Disk Drive Cage
1.
Remove the right side door. See “Removing the Right Side Door” on page 4-4.

Remove the front panel. See “Removing the Front Panel” on page 4-6.
3.
If necessary, remove the already installed 5.25-inch device. See “Removing a
5.25-inch device” on page 4-11.

If necessary, from the inside of the chassis, push on the desired slot cache with
your left hand and hold it with your right hand outside the chassis.
5.
Pivot the cache until it gets released from the frame.
Note:

Two slots are necessary to install a hard disk drive cage.
■
The two tabs that hold the cache actually break: this is nor-
mal.
6.
Take four slide rails marked as “CD-ROM”. Slide rails come with the system in a
plastic bag.
7.
Attach two slide rails onto both sides of the hard disk drive cage as shown in the
picture below.

Have the relevant cables getting out of the hard disk drive cage slot and connect
them to the hard disk drive cage. See “Cabling the Hard Disk Drive Cage” on
page 4-9.
