To remove the CD-ROM drive from the CD-ROM/Floppy Disk Drive assembly, remove
the upper four screws (A) securing the drive to the assembly and pull the drive forward
to remove it.

NOTE:
You will find it easier to remove the floppy disk drive, if you first
remove the CD-ROM drive from the CD-ROM/Floppy Disk Drive
assembly.

To remove the floppy disk drive from the CD-ROM/Floppy Disk Drive assembly, first
release the tabs securing the floppy drive ribbon cable to the CDROM/FDD module
board.

Remove the lower four screws securing the floppy drive to the assembly and pull the
drive forward to remove it.

Release the tabs securing the ribbon cable to the rear of the floppy drive and remove the
cable. Save this cable for installation of the replacement drive.
10.
Install the ribbon cable removed in the previous step into the rear connector on the
replacement floppy disk drive. Push down on the connector cable retainer to secure the
cable.
11.
Install the replacement device into the assembly and secure it with the four screws
removed in the previous steps.
12.
If replacing the floppy disk drive, install the floppy drive ribbon cable into the connector
on the CD-ROM/Floppy module and secure the connector cable retainer tab.
13.
Insert the Floppy Disk/CD-ROM assembly straight into the flex bay.
