Procedures after Completion of Installation 5-9
Set up for PCs on Network
If you have computers which communicate with Express5800/ft servers through TCP/IP protocol
and operate on Windows Server 2003/Windows XP/Windows 2000/Windows NT 4.0/Windows
95/Windows 98/Windows ME, the following configuration is required on all the computers.
1. Copy the following file in the
“
ft control software for VMware Infrastructure installation CD
”
and copy it to an arbitrary directory.

2. Run Command prompt and type the directory where you copied the above file, then enter the
following command.
FTREG.EXE
This configuration aims to avoid possibility of timeout if the connection fails and there is no
communication between Express5800/ft server (including guest OS that operates on Express5800/ft
servers) and computers that connect with LAN protocol, just after starting up Express5800/ft server
or when reinstalling CPU modules (duplex process).
On Express5800/ft server (including guest OS that operates on Express5800/ft server), just after
starting up the server or when reinstalling CPU modules, duration of the connection failure largely
changes depending on the mounted memory size and system operating status.
The max duration of communication failure is as follows on each memory size.
