Chapter 5 Replacing Modules
Note
•
Hold the pull-tab of the QSFP+ module to pull it out.
It doesn’t matter if you pull it out with the LAN cable connected
•
When you have removed the LAN cable from the QSFP+ module, attach a
protective cap to it to protect the light-
receiving
part from dirt and dust.

Refer to steps 1 to 3 in
Chapter 5 (1.2 Overview of Replacing Modules)
in this document for
preparations.
4.
Raise the ejector of the NW switch module to be replaced.
5.
Hold the ejector and the handle firmly and pull out the switch module slowly.
6.
Install it slowly to the guide of the slot on which the replacement NE switch module is mounted.
7.
Lay stress on the handle and the ejector evenly to bring down the ejector and install the NW switch
module firmly.
8.
Install the removed LAN cable, the QSFP+ module and the maintenance LAN cable. Hold the metal part
of the QSFP+ module firmly.
Connect the LAN cable to the QSFP+ module in advance and install the QSFP+ module on the NW
switch module.
Important The pull-tab of the QSFP+ module is used for pulling out the module.
If you hold the pull-tab to install the module, you may damage the pull-tab. Do not
hold the pull-tab to install the module.
