System BIOS Setup (Description of SETUP)
This section describes how to configure Basic Input Output System (BIOS). Make sure you have read and
understood this section to configure properly.
6.1
Overview
BIOS Setup Utility (SETUP) is a utility to set the BIOS of this server. This utility is installed as default in the flash
memory of this server. Therefore, you can execute it without the boot media.
In most of cases, the SETUP was configured for optimal performance before the server was shipped to you.
Therefore, in most of cases, you should not need to use the SETUP utility.
Use it only when you find a case
falling under “Chapter 3 (6.4 Cases that require configuration)” in this document.

Starting and Exiting the BIOS SETUP Utility
Starting SETUP
6.2.1
Turn on the power to the server module by referring to
Chapter 3.1, "Turning on the Server".

After a while, the following message will be displayed on the lower left of the screen.
(* The message varies depending on the environment.)
Press <F2> SETUP, <F12> Network
If you press the <F2> key at this time, SETUP runs and displays
Main
menu upon completion of POST.
Tips
SETUP starts by pressing the <F2> key while the option ROM message is
displayed if the boot mode is the legacy BIOS mode.
If you set a password, the message prompting password entry is displayed.
Enter Password [ ]
You can enter a password up to three times.
If you enter a wrong password three times, the operation
stops.
As you cannot continue operation, turn off the power.
Exiting SETUP
6.2.2
To save setting changes of SETUP, select “Save Changes and Exit” or “Save Changes and Power Off” in “Save
& Exit” menu to exit it To discard the setting, select “Discard Changes and Exit” or “Discard Changes and Power
Off” in “Save & Exit” menu to exit it.
Tips
To restore the default value, select
Save & Exit
, and then
Restore Defaults
.
The default value may be different from the factory setting.
