Installing the Server on a Non-NEC Rack
You can install the server on a non-NEC rack if requirements are satisfied.
Important Precautions / Disclaimer
Described below is a guideline of the propriety, and does not ensure the
installation of the server to a non-NEC rack.
NEC does not perform any test such as the temperature test and the vibration test
on the server installed on a non-NEC rack. Therefore, the server must be installed
out on user's responsibility.
Consult with your maintenance service company before installation.
NEC does not assume any liability for disadvantages arising from installation of
this server on a non-NEC rack.
Pay attention to satisfy the requirements, including weight limits, of the rack you

Requirements
The rack to install the server must satisfy the following conditions:
Requirement 1
The rack must be 19 inches wide, and have mounting holes of universal pitch conforming to EIA standard.
Requirement 2
Must have vent holes on front and rear doors so that devices can be cooled sufficiently (must have sufficient
opening ratio).
* For front and rear doors, 60% or more opening ratio is strongly recommended. If the shape or design of the
door affects opening ratio, install the server avoiding such an area.
Requirement 3
Mount the baffle plate in a space (made at the side of rack or when no device is installed) to prevent wraparound
of exhaust. Form the cable or others so that air intake and exhaust may not be blocked.
Requirement 4
Mount angles to secure the server on the front and rear of rack must be equipped, and must satisfy the following
conditions:
