Event Actions
For event actions that generate messages, such as Message Box, Broadcast, Pager, and Internet e-
mail, the message can include any text you add and information from the event that generated the
message, including:

Host name
•
Date
•
Time
•
Severity
•
Alert name
•
Alert value
•
Instance Name
•
User String
The “Instance Name” information consists of several fields, separated by colons (:), which
correspond to the event which has occurred. The following two tables describe the fields of
“Instance Name” for the events shown in Table 2-1.
