Adjusting the MICR Check Reader
Anytime the print mechanism has been removed or disassembled, the Magnetic Ink
Character Recognition (MICR) check reader must be adjusted. See the following two
sections in “Chapter 3: Diagnostics” for adjusting the MICR check reader:

“Checking and Adjusting the MICR Check Reader (Common Board and RS-232C
Models)”
•
“Checking and Adjusting the MICR Check Reader (LCSIO—RS-485 MICR Amplifier
Board)”
Replacing the Remaining Items
1. Replace the sensor bracket assembly.
See the illustration in “Removing the Sensor Bracket” in chapter 9.
2. Replace the slip table.
See the illustration in “Preparation” in chapter 9.
3. With the hinge arm assembly (front cover) closed, position the top cover on the printer.
See the illustration in “Replacing the Top Cover” in chapter 8.
You may need to remove the receipt cover before you can put the top cover back on.
4. Replace the receipt cover.
See the illustration in “Replacing the Receipt Cover” in chapter 8.
5. Open the front cover and set the switches back to their proper settings for the
communication interface.
See “Appendix B: Communication Information” for the switch settings for either the
RS-232C interface or the LCSIO (RS-485) interface.
6. Hold the paper feed button down for one second to open the platen.
