Repair Procedures

Replacing the Blower/Blower Motor

If the blower or its motor fail, it should be replaced.

Required Items:

Blower, 50Hz (part no. 401163) or 60Hz (part no. 200036)

or

Blower motor (part no. P91278)

Allen or Torx driver

Screwdriver

Loctite

®

242 locking compound or equivalent

To replace the blower:

1

Press the power switch to the

OFF

(O) position, then unplug the power cord.

Remove the upper white door seal, then loosen—but don’t remove—the screws

just inside the Drier door, behind the door stop (see Figure 4.2 on page 4-3).

Pull out and remove the front cover (see Figure 4.3 on page 4-3).

From inside the drying cabinet, remove and set aside the four acorn nuts and

four lock washers that secure the blower bracket to the blower filter plate (see

NOTE

For 60Hz devices only, the blower motor (rather than the entire blower assembly) may be
replaced, follow step 8a through step 8h.

WARNING

Electrical shock hazard when the front panel is removed.
