WT4070/90 Wearable Terminal Integrator Guide
Device Configuration Package.
The Device Configuration Package provides flash partitions, Terminal Configuration
Manager (TCM) and the associated TCM scripts. With this package hex images that represent flash partitions can be
created and downloaded to the wearable terminal.

EAN.
(European Article Number) This European/International version of the UPC provides its own coding format and
symbology standards. Element dimensions are specified metrically. EAN is used primarily in retail.
EAP.
(Extensible Authentication Protocol) A general authentication protocol used to control network access. Many specific
authentication methods work within this framework.
EAP-PEAP.
(Extensible Authentication Protocol-Protected Extensible Authentication Protocol) A mutual authentication
method that uses a combination of digital certificates and another system, such as passwords.
EAP-TLS.
(Extensible Authentication Protocol-Transport Layer Security) A mutual authentication method that uses digital
certificates.
Encoded Area.
Total linear dimension occupied by all characters of a code pattern, including start/stop characters and data.
Encryption.
Encoding data to prevent it from being read by unauthorized people.
ENQ (RS-232).
ENQ software handshaking is also supported for the data sent to the host.
EMDK.
Enterprise Mobility Developer’s Kit.
Ethernet .
An IEEE standard network protocol that specifies how data is placed on and retrieved from a common
transmission medium.
ESD.

Flash Disk.
An additional megabyte of non-volatile memory for storing application and configuration files.
Flash Memory.
Flash memory is nonvolatile, semi-permanent storage that can be electronically erased in the circuit and
reprogrammed.
File Transfer Protocol (FTP).
A TCP/IP application protocol governing file transfer via network or telephone lines. See
TCP/IP.
