- Maintaining the pressure of the bead breaker disc on
the tyre (Fig. 22), create enough space to allow the
demount tool to be rocked.
- Using control 23 Fig.21, rock the demount tool
(Fig. 22).
- It is important to rotate the turntable slightly to
facilitate engagement of the bead.
- For easier bead coupling, it might be very helpful to
use the bead breaker disc on the lower part of the
tyre using control 3 Fig.10a.
Demounting the top bead
- Check that the tool has engaged with the tyre bead.
- Operate control 23 Fig.21 to prepare for the
subsequent demounting (Fig. 22a) (this must be
done with the wheel at a standstill and not rotating).
- Make sure that the tyre has not beaded in on the
operator’s side. If necessary, use a clamp and/or a
bed presser (Fig.22b).
- Now, and only now, operate the pedal 15 Fig.10
until the bead is completely demounted Fig.22c.
- Here again, it might be helpful to use the bead breaker
disc on the underside of the tyre.
