6.2.3 Recommendations on the checking of technological programs.
Before starting to operate the Stainer with real laboratory preparations, it is
recommended to check the functioning of chosen or newly programmed technological
programs and to perform trial staining with model preparations.
After loading a program, it is necessary to check the configuration of the Stainer,
correct position of troughs, absence of lids on troughs, and to control the connection of
Stainer to water supply, drain and ventilation systems. It is recommended to perform the first
running of a program without reagents. It is rational to perform trial runnings of a program
with maximum number of loaded racks, to control visually that there are no errors.
After testing without reagents, perform staining with test preparations. Depending on
the technique, blood preparations of appropriate quality, buccal smears, etc. can be used
for test staining.
