6. Preparing for operation

TO SWITCH ON THE STAINER WITHOUT PRIOR READING THE
INSTRUCTION FOR USE.
CAUTION!
BEFORE SWITCHING ON THE STAINER, MAKE SURE THAT THE
WORKING CHAMBER DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY EXTRANEOUS ITEMS, THE
TROUGHS ARE ARRANGED IN THEIR PLACES.
6.1 Switching on
Switch on the Stainer with the power switch at the left side panel. After switching on,
the backlight of the touch screen on the control unit lights up. A splash screen with a
manufacturer’s logo appears on the screen. Ten seconds later, the Stainer switches to the
main menu with control buttons, and a reminder about the necessity to check the
configuration of Stainer and readiness of troughs with reagents appears on the screen. At
the same time, the electromagnetic valve is activated, and tap water starts to fill the flow-
through trough. The Stainer performs self-test, when it is finished, the manipulator arm
positions opposite station No. 1.
6.2 Check of working capacity
Before starting the operation, it is rational to check the working capacity of the Stainer
and its accessories. Check of mutual positioning of troughs, parking stations, and
manipulator's grab during operation is performed with the help of a positioning test.
6.2.1 Positioning test.
The positioning test helps to detect irregularities in the geometry of Stainer and its
accessories during transportation and in case of negligent operation.
Place troughs AT STATIONS 3-8, 10-16 into the Stainer. The positioning elements
of the troughs must fit into notches of the positioning disk.

Switch on the Stainer with the power switch at the left side panel.
As soon as the main menu has been loaded, consecutively press the following
