4.8 Safety instructions for handling pressurized gas containers
WARNING
• Only install and fasten the compressed gas container vertically.
• Never connect the compressed gas container without a pressure reducer with safety valve,
otherwise there is a danger of the beverage container exploding.
• Ventilate the installation room well, otherwise there is danger of suffocation.
• Do not install or store the cylinder near any sources of heat.
• Before installation, check the cylinder for gas leaks.
• Do not pass the cylinder’s connecting tube in front of the heat outlet vent of the carbonator.
The miscea aquamore system can be used with refillable CO
2
gas cylinders larger than 425g. If you are
using a CO
2
gas cylinder larger than 425g, please note the following information.
WARNING
• Connecting a CO
2
gas cylinder larger than 425g to the miscea aquamore system should only
be performed by a trained professional.
CAUTION
• Rechargeable cylinders larger than 425g are supplied empty. Have the cylinder filled with
CO
2
gas by the nearest authorized distributor. Ask only for CO
2
(carbon dioxide) for food
products.
• Ensure to use a pressure reducer with safety valve approved for the type of system and gas
type. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the chosen pressure reducer.
• Ensure the safety valve on the gas cylinder is sealed and functional.
Only connect the compressed gas container if the installation room is large enough and the area is suffi -
ciently ventilated, or a gas warning system is available. The cylinder size must be adapted to the room.
Use this rule when deciding the cylinder size for the room:
• Filling quantity of the CO
2
bottle in kg x 17 = Minimum room size in m³ or
• Filling quantity of the CO
2
bottle in kg x 7.5 = Minimum room area in m² incl. Furniture
The factor 17 results from the quotient 0.51 (m³/kg)/0.03 (maximum CO
2
concentration in %). 1kg CO
2
in the compressed air bottle takes up approx. 0.51m³ space when flowing out. To achieve a maximum
concentration of 3% CO
2
in the air a room must be at least 17m³ large to ensure a safe environment
in case of a leakage. With a room height of 2,5m this corresponds to a surface of 6,8m². Furniture and
other objects in the room reduce the volume. Therefore we recommend the following:
• 1kg CO
2
bottle: at least 6,8m² room, with furniture about 7,5m²
• 2kg CO
2
bottle: at least 13,6m², with furniture approx. 15m²
• 6kg CO
2
bottle: at least 40,8m², with furniture approx. 45m²
