Connect your printer to your PC with a parallel cable.

Under certain PC configurations, the Software Utilities CD-ROM
automatically launches its own installation utility. If this should
occur during the Plug and Play procedure, cancel the Plug and
Play installation and install the driver using the CD-ROM installer
for easy access to online documentation.

With your PC turned off, turn on the printer (the power switch is on the
side of the printer), and then turn on your PC. A

Insert the Software Utilities CD-ROM, and close the CD-ROM
auto-installer window.
