3.4 Calibration
3.4.1 Syringe calibration
Purpose of syringe calibration:
Syringe calibration aims to improve the accuracy of the infusion, so as to calibrate
the non-built-in brand syringe. The parameters to be calibrated include the outer
diameter of the syringe, the full-scale length and the emptying position. The data of
the new brand at the factory is empty. If the new syringe brand is not calibrated, you
will be prompted to calibrate the syringe when you use it.
The syringe in the syringe pump does not require routine calibration. However,
calibration is required when you use it for the first time, use a new syringe brand, or
when you suspect that the infusion flow largely deviates from the standard one.
Before calibrating, you should prepare the following materials:
Syringes: 5 ml, 10 ml, 20 ml, 30 ml, and 50 ml standard syringes.
Follow this procedure to perform a calibration:
1. Install the syringe correctly and pull the syringe plunger to the full-scale position.
The “L” in the figure below is the full scale of the 50ml syringe.
2.
Select [Main Menu] → [Maintenance] → input the user maintenance password
→ [System Calibration] → [Accuracy Calibration].
3. On the [Syringe Selection] screen, select the brand and specification of the
current syringe.
4. Press
. The syringe pump is automatically calibrated.
5. If the calibration is finished successfully, the message “
