If you lock the doors manually and the child-
proof locks in the rear doors are also enabled,
you will not be able to open the rear doors
from outside or the inside. It will only be pos-
sible to unlock the rear doors when the vehi-
cle's electrical closing function is working

the rear doors (

Using a suitable tool, turn the knob

Opening and closing the tailgate

While opening or closing the tailgate, it may
suddenly drop into the end position. There is a
risk of injury for anyone in the tailgate's swing-
ing range.
Only open or close the tailgate when there are
no persons within its swinging range.

Do not drive with an open tailgate. If you
drive with an open tailgate, you may damage
the vehicle and the tailgate.

Lower the tailgate with your hands until the
tailgate is in the end position.
The support cables hold the tailgate.

To close: guide the tailgate upwards with
your hands until the tailgate is in end position.

Shut the tailgate.
Opening the tailgate by 180°

On vehicles without a rear bumper, you can
open the tailgate by an additional 180°.

If you open the tailgate by 180° on vehicles
with a bumper, the bumper can become dam-
aged.
On vehicles without a bumper, only open the
tailgate by a maximum of 180°. Lower the
tailgate carefully with your hands.
