The operator may override the default Occlusion limit for a particular infusion from the <OPTIONS> menu if that
option is enabled.
This bar graph indicates three pressure-reading values:
1.
The right side of the bar is the current reading.
2.
The left side of the bar is the oldest reading.
3.
The update rate to the graphical readings depends on the flow delivery rate.
Therefore:
•
If the graph slopes upward from left to right, then the pump is headed toward occlusion.
•
If the graph is level, then backpressure is steady.
FlowSentry (Rapid Occlusion Detection)
FlowSentry is an internal program unique to the 3500 that monitors and analyzes delivery pressure. When activated,
FlowSentry will alert the clinician to the existence of an occlusion much more rapidly than conventional occlusion
alert systems.
How do you know if FlowSentry has been activated?
1.
During startup and during the stabilization period following a rate change a pound sign (#) will appear to the
left of the pressure trend graph. The presence of the # indicates that FlowSentry is active, and that the
delivery pressure is stabilizing.
2.
Once the delivery pressure has reached a stabile level the # sign will be replaced by a horizontal arrow (
→
).
