At a glance – Front Cabin
Quick reference COMAND
When setting the volume, the system au-
tomatically stores the setting for the cur-
rently active operating mode. The
volume of voice announcements can be
adjusted during an announcement on
the front cabin control unit.
The system stores the volume settings
when it is switched OFF. After switching
the system back on again, the volume
may be lower than at the time when the
system was switched OFF.
The volume is lower if
the system was OFF for longer than
15 minutes, or if
at switch-OFF the volume had been
set on a value outside a certain range.
Vehicles without partition

Turn the rotary control

on the CO-
MAND control unit,
or
Press æ or ç on the multifunc-
tion steering wheel,
or
On the remote control, press key
æ or ç .
The volume changes up or down, de-
pending on the direction of rotation
or which button/key was pressed.
The volume selected last is stored by
the system, regardless on which con-
trol it had been selected.
Vehicles with partiton and partition
closed
Turn the rotary control

on the CO-
MAND control unit,
or
Press æ or ç on the multifunc-
tion steering wheel;
Depending on direction of rotation,
or which button was pressed, the vol-
ume in the driver’s compartment can
be lowered or raised.
On the remote control, press key
æ or ç .
Depending on which key was
pressed, the volume in the rear cabin
compartment is being lowered or
raised.
Automatic volume control
The automatic volume control feature
adjusts the sound volume depending on
the interior ambient noises and other pa-
rameters (e.g. windows open or closed).

If headphones are used on one of the
rear cabin controls, their volume can
be adjusted separately.
