2.5 Altitude
The engine can be operated safely up to a maximum pressure
altitude of 3.000 m.
2.6 Battery Limitation
The minimum battery voltage for starting the engine under load
is 11.5 V.
2.7 Fuel and Lubricants
2.7.1
Fuel
The engine MD-TJ42 must be operated with
diesel fuel
according to DIN EN 590
. For lubrication 2 Vol.% two stroke
engine oil has to be added to the diesel fuel.
If the engine is to be operated down to
-15°C
, it is recommended
to use
class F
winter diesel.
The following table provides information on the use of different
classes of winter diesel.

REMARK:
If it is not known which class the used fuel fulfils,
it must be assumed that class A fuel is used.
If the tank is filled with a mixture of different fuel
classes, the fuel in the tank must be assumed as
class A fuel.
