4.5 Shut Off of the Engine
The engine can be shut off on ground and in the air utilizing the
same procedure.
To shut off the engine the rotational speed has to be reduced to
idle (30.000 RPM) before switching the engine switch to “RET”.
CAUTION:
Do not
switch the main system switch to “OFF”
before the EGT is less than 55°C.
In case the wind milling of the engine is
not sufficient for cooling (e.g. ground
operation), the ECU starts with the
cooling of the engine automatically after
shutting off the engine. This means that
the starter spins the engine with
approximately 3.000 RPM for forced-cooling until an EGT of
less than 55°C is reached.
The engine retracts automatically if the EGT is less than 55°C.

For maintenance tests on the ground allow the
starter motor to cycle several times to cool the
engine. Avoid touching the hot engine and avoid
retracting the engine prior to sufficient cooling
