1)  Overview Of SolarSmart Plus

SolarSmart Plus is an integrated solar charged, battery operated DC motor drive and receiver  for
use with roller shutters, awnings and external blinds. The SolarSmart Plus unit can be used with
single and multi channel transmitters.

2)  Tools Required For Installation Of SolarSmart Plus

3)  Installation & Setup Procedure Of SolarSmart Plus

SolarSmart Plus is delivered with the battery disconnected.

1.   Select the site for the SolarSmart Plus unit to be mounted. The site should provide for the

maximum amount of direct sunlight as possible. North, East and West facing are best with
a minimum of 3 hours of direct sunlight per day.

2.   Fix the two supplied mounting rails to the mounting surface using appropriate fixings.
3.   Where cables need to penetrate sheet roofing, always drill through the top of the ridge and

seal with silicone.

Please refer to Fig. 4.

4.   Connect the motor wire to the cable on the SolarSmart Plus unit as shown in Fig. 1 to Fig 5.
5.   Finish  mounting  the  SolarSmart  Plus  unit  by  placing  the  larger  profile  side  onto  the

mounting rails and then hinging the unit down and pressing until the mounts click firmly.

Please refer to Fig. 1.

6.   Follow the applicable remote transmitter pairing procedures as shown in Fig. 7 to Fig. 15 in

section

5) Pairing Remote Transmitters To The SolarSmart Plus Receiver

.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE When pairing transmitters to the SolarSmart Plus unit, a motor
must be connected or the pairing will not complete successfully. DO NOT connect the
battery on the SolarSmart Plus unit unless the motor is connected. DO NOT attempt to
pair a transmitter with no motor connected. Any activation of the unit without the motor
connected could result in a short circuit that will damage the unit.

Please refer to Fig. 6.

7.   Refer to the relevant motor instructions for limit setting supplied with the motor.

NOTE The SolarSmart Plus Fabric Tensioning Receiver Unit (41-500-501) has the Fabric
Tensioning Feature. This feature is useful for cassette type awnings and vertical drop
awnings  where  it  is  desirable  to  maintain  tension  on  the  fabric  at  all  times.  When
setting the upper limit with these units, ensure that you set the mechanical limit in
excess of the position you desire. The unit will stop the motor when tension has been
detected on the curtain/fabric.

INSERT THE TOP OF THE SOLARSMART PLUS FIRST

ON TO THE MOUNTING BRACKETS.

HINGE THE UNIT FLAT AND PRESS UNTIL THE

BRACKET LOCKS THE SOLARSMART PLUS.
