CRANK MECHANISM
Tightening sequence of outer mounting bolts
• Evenly tighten the mounting bolts (1) and (2)
alternately until the crankcase lower section
comes into contact
• Tighten the mounting bolts 1 to 14 in the tightening
sequence
Tightening the outer mounting bolts
• Thinly apply clean engine oil to MAN Standard
3277 on the contact surfaces and threads of the
new mounting bolts (1)
• Screw in the new outer mounting bolts (1) with
washers (2) as marked
• Tighten the outer mounting bolts (1) to 65 Nm as
per the tightening diagram
Assembling special tool 1
• Insert the Torque multiplier i = 1 : 3.3 [156] (1) into
the Support [157] (2)
• Attach the Holding device [159] (5) with the
Cylinder head bolt [160] (4) and the Adapter [163]
(3) on the Support [157] (2)
• Put the Torque angle gauge [158] (9) on the Torque
multiplier i = 1 : 3.3 [156] (1)
• Put the Socket, size 22 [155] on the Torque
multiplier i = 1 : 3.3 [156] (1) and secure using
the Connecting pin [161] (7) and the Rubber ring,
42 mm [162] (6)
• Insert the Socket [164] (8) into the Socket, size
22 [155] and Holding device [159] (5)
