CYLINDER HEAD
Attaching the valve-spring compressor
WARNING
Injector damage
• Spring compressor must not come into
contact with the injector
• Position the Holder [90] (4) and Holder [91] (5) on
the spring cap and tension by turning the threaded
spindle (6)
• Hook the Valve-spring compressor [89] (2) in the
Assembly device [87] (3)
• Place the Extension [88] (1) onto the Valve-spring
compressor [89] (2)
Removing the valve cotters
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to springing back of
the valve springs
• Ensure that the Holder [90] and
Holder [91] are seated correctly on
the spring cap
• Do not remove the valve cotters from
the valve spring with your bare hands
• Push down the Valve-spring compressor [89] with
Extension [88] (1)
• Remove the valve cotters (3) from the valve stem
(4) with Magnetic pick-up tool [92] (2)
• Release the Valve-spring compressor [89] (1)
• Remove the valve spring together with the washer
and spring cap
• Repeat the same procedure for all the valves
• Remove the special tool
Removing the valve stem seals
• Push the Assembly device [93] (2) over the valve
stem seal (3)
• Clamp the Assembly device [93] (2)
• Pull the valve stem seal (3) off the valve guide with
the impact weight (1)
